Eric Dermond is the Chairman of the Board at S3 AeroDefense and has over 43 years of experience in aviation and product support businesses, where he has held a number of executive and leadership roles. In Milwaukee WI in December 1979, Mr. Dermond founded Derco Aerospace, Inc., a family business which specialized in the distribution of aircraft parts to military users, such as the C-130/L100 aircraft. As CEO at Derco, he grew the business from a start-up to more than $215 million in revenues by 2002. He was also instrumental in the creation of Derco Holdings, Inc., which was comprised of five separate companies providing spare parts, remanufacturing, maintenance support, and other services to numerous aerospace customers.
Max Dermond is an active Board Member at S3 AeroDefense and has spent over 39 years in leadership positions in the aerospace and defense industries. He began his career in 1980 at Derco Aerospace, Inc., and worked in numerous sales, support, and operating leadership positions over the ensuing years. He helped to grow the business to more than 500 employees and revenues of over $215 million. He has been responsible for the formation of joint ventures and start-ups of several companies, each focused on serving the needs of commercial and military customers.
Stephane Dermond is an active member of the Board at S3 AeroDefense and has 31+ years of professional experience. He has founded, grown and sold numerous successful companies. He presently serves as a Board Member and President of Optimum Vehicle Logistics (OVL). He has served in key executive and board member roles at Derco Aerospace, Aero Precision Industries (API), Turbopower, S3 International and Dermond Properties Real Estate Development.
He attended the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin and has attended the Executive Development program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He speaks English, French, Turkish, Italian, and Spanish.
Aksel Sidem is the President at S3 AeroDefense and has over 20 years of experience working in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Aksel provides strategic direction, leadership and management; in addition, he oversees activities of all departments, formulates policies, manages daily operations, and plans the use of information technology, financial and human resources. Aksel ensures that the organization’s financial goals, business objectives, and budgets are met. He is responsible for the communication, management and accountability of companywide strategy and initiatives.
Previously, Aksel worked as a VP of Information Technology (IT) at Derco Aerospace where he aligned IT projects with business goals and managed IT strategy, planning, and budgets. He developed solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency and led organizational changes to improve business processes.
Aksel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, a Master of Business Administration degree with emphasis in Management and Strategy, and a master’s degree in management information systems.
Jeff Wnuk is the Sr. Vice President of Operations at S3 International which he founded in 2005. Prior to starting S3, Jeff was a Program Manager with Derco Aerospace responsible for managing C-130 and F-5 aircraft modification and upgrade programs including the planning, development, directing, tracking and coordination procedures for implementing and executing program schedules, budget, and objectives. These aircraft modification and upgrade programs ranged from cockpit upgrades, avionic system upgrades, periodic depot maintenance (PDM) activities, to environmental control systems (ECS) upgrades. In addition to aircraft modification and upgrade programs, Jeff was also actively involved in back shop development, repair capability development, technical data supplement development, and repair management programs.
With over 20 years in the Aerospace and Defense industry, including being a licensed pilot, airframe/powerplant mechanic, and repair station experience, Jeff provides guidance and input to the company such as: key product lines and aircraft platforms to support sourcing and purchase activities, strategic supplier relationships, business development opportunities, and all repair activities. In addition, Jeff manages and ensures that the company’s quality objectives are followed, oversees all material procurement and repair activities, identifies key inventory buys, and supports the sales team’s efforts by offering technical expertise.
Sebastien Imbert is the Sr. Vice President of Sales at S3 International, where he is responsible for overseeing all sales and marketing functions including targeting new customers and business opportunities, maintaining existing customer relationships, and providing customers with exceptional customer service in aftermarket support. With over 20 years of experience working in the Aerospace and Defense industry, Sebastien is responsible for detailed sales and marketing planning, forecasting, projections and strategy implementation. He trains and manages S3 International’s sales team and ensures that sales and marketing goals are met. A progressive entrepreneurial thinker and rapid decision maker, Sebastien can analyze problems and quickly resolve them at a strategic and functional level.
Prior to joining S3 International, Sebastien worked as a Regional Sales Director for Africa and the Middle East at Derco Aerospace, a Sikorsky Helicopter Company generating more than $40 million in sales through spares, repairs, and programs. In addition, Sebastien speaks several languages including French, German and conversational Turkish.
